Josie M. Porras Corporon, BSW, JD
Josie was born and raised in Orland, where she currently resides with her family. She received her BA/BSW in Social Work from California State University, Chico and her JD from the University of Iowa College of Law. Josie was a medical social worker prior to becoming an attorney and has incorporated those skills into her law practice. Josie is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, as certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is the appointed attorney representative on the State’s Advisory Committee on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias; is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Past President of the Northern California Chapter; and is appointed to the Executive Board for Legal Services of Northern California. Locally, she sits on the Advocacy Committee for the Chico Chapter of the Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and is a Board Member at the Peg Taylor Center.
J. Scott Corporon, BA, JD
Scott grew up in Chico and now lives in Orland with his wife, Josie, and daughter, Nicole. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Welfare and received his JD from the University of Iowa’s College of Law with Distinction. Prior to law school, Scott worked with developmentally disabled adults through the Work Training Center. He also worked as a bilingual Employment Programs Representative with the State of California, Employment Development Department. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and playing music.
